As an alumna of AVA, I am thrilled to partner with my alma mater to create limited-edition pieces to commemorate this season's stunningly successful production of Les Contes d'Hoffman.
Every piece of Belle Pietre Jewelry (Stone Jewelry of Operatic Proportions)
is inspired by an operatic leading lady, reflecting the heroine's
character and spirit, and these necklaces are no exception. The three
pieces are inspired by - and named for - Hoffman's three loves: Olympia, Antonia, and Giulietta.
Whether you are commemorating this performance, sharing your delight in this production with someone who missed it, or simply love bold, artisan jewelry, these one-of-a-kind pieces give more than just tangible, wearable beauty.

Two shapes of glimmering, frosty Rose Quartz are joined mechanically with straight silver tubes and rounded squares, just as Hoffman's Olympia is assembled. The faceted shapes parallel the doll's articulated movements. Unlike her inability to warm to Hoffman's human love, these stones will warm to one's body heat and reflect a feminine glow.
Five elongated drops (1-1/4" X 3/8") and ten 3/8" rounds form a unique collar. The necklace is finished with silver curved tubes, small rounded squares, and a decorative toggle clasp

Luminous white Mother-of-Pearl teardrops and delicate freshwater pearls alternate to reflect the radiant, yet fragile state of Hoffman's most human (and tragic) love.
Nine 1-1/4" drops are strung with short silver tube beads, 1/4" freshwater pearls, longer curved tubes, and finished with a decorative toggle clasp.

This gorgeous piece speaks of Love in the shape of its Chinese crystal hearts, but their glittery, faceted surface acts as a mirror, like the one used by the sultry courtesan to capture the Hoffman's hapless soul. The shadowy shade suggests the dark nature of their ill-fated love.
Nine 1" dusky crystal hearts are linked to dangle enticingly from silver tube beads and ovals to form a glamorous collar; it is joined with a decorative toggle clasp. This scintillating necklace speaks to the bit of courtesan in all of us.
